ProdAssist

Every feature, explained.

Manual camera controls, the monitoring tools you would expect on a field monitor, Beauty, live graphics, a mixer for extra cameras, HDMI out, RTMP, and phone-to-phone remotes. On Windows, the companion turns whichever phone is on air into a webcam for Zoom, OBS, and Teams.

The phone app

Inside the Android app

Page by page, in the order you would meet them. Extra Cam and Clean use Layout; the Beauty page and depth-of-field blur also need Experimental on closed-test builds.

01 · Viewfinder

Camera controls

The dials that matter live on the main viewfinder, so you can set exposure yourself instead of talking auto out of a decision.

Main / UW / Tele / Mono / Front / USB ISO Shutter / angle EV WB + white card AF / MF Zoom rail Torch Mic gain
  • Shutter angle at 180°, 90°, 45°, or 360°, worked out from your frame rate.
  • White balance presets, a custom Kelvin dial, and a white-card calibration.
  • Touch behaviour you choose: tap to focus, pinch to zoom, drag for exposure, or hide the controls entirely.
  • Hardware keys for zoom, recording, and the torch, plus your own keyboard and gamepad bindings.

02 · Monitoring

The same aids as a field monitor

Exposure and focus checks sit in the TOOLS row on the viewfinder, and in Settings → Monitor if you want them on all the time.

Zebra Focus peaking False color Histogram Waveform Audio meters Grids Frame guides LUT chip
  • Frame guides for 16:9, 2.39:1, 1.85:1, 4:3, and 1:1, drawn over the landscape viewfinder.
  • Ten LUTs to shoot with: Pro Teal, Day Night, Dusty, Monochrome, Nature, Nostalgic, Paloma, Rift, Vivid, Warm Fade.
  • Color profiles for Rec. 709, Rec. 2020, a flat log-style curve, and a higher-contrast 709.

03 · Capture

Record and review

Real encoder settings, and a library in the app so you can watch takes back without leaving it.

4K / 1080p / 720p 24 / 25 / 30 / 60 fps H.264 / H.265 Bitrate control Stabilization
  • Detail recovery for the base image and for zoomed shots, with a choice of methods: automatic, optical, classic sharpening, multi-frame, or AI upscaling.
  • Depth of field (Settings → Experimental → Enhance) — background blur that can follow a person or treat the whole scene. Closed-test builds only for now.
  • Library with scrubbing, looping, playback speed, audio presets, sharing, and review on an HDMI display.

04 · Beauty page

A softer look, when it is asked for

An optional page with Beauty, Color, and Stickers tabs. Turn it on when the person in front of the camera wants it, and leave it off otherwise.

Smooth / Blush / Lips Girl · Boy · Natural · Glam… Prism color filters Stickers Compare / Reset
  • Presets for a quick starting point, with Off, Compare, and Reset so a client can see the difference.
  • Color filters including PRISM, Tone, VHS, and Mono.
  • Panel themes shared with Studio: Classic, Glass, Midnight, Ember, Mist, and Ink.

Turn on Experimental, then enable the Beauty page under Layout. Extra Cam is Layout only. Shape and Eye packs are laid out but not wired up yet.

05 · My Studio

Graphics you can fire mid-show

Swipe to STUDIO for banks of text, images, video, and music. Each bank is one tap, which is what you want when the show is already running.

Lower thirds Titles / marquee Images & video QR / web page PNGtuber RTMP video in
  • Decide separately whether each item shows on the preview, the stream, and the HDMI output.
  • PNGtuber avatars with emotion slots, movement, reaction to your voice, and chroma key.
  • Fade, slide, or pop transitions, holding on screen or hiding themselves after a while.

06 · Extra Cam

A small switcher on the phone

Switch on the Extra Cam page and you get a mixer holding the phone's own camera, USB cameras, other phones on the network, and still images.

Host cam Scan remotes Add USB Add image Cut to PGM Mic routing
  • LIVE and PGM badges on every tile, so whoever is operating can see what is on air.
  • Audio per source: take the host mic, the remote's mic, or mute it.
  • Old Android phones can join as sources through the separate Legacy Remote app.

A USB camera works as a mixer source on the free tier. Wi‑Fi remotes and the rest of the mixer need Pro or higher.

07 · HDMI

Feed a projector or a switcher

Plug in a display and pick what it shows, and which overlays go out with it.

Program on display Multicam Mirror screen Clean host camera 1080p / 4K / DCI
  • Choose which overlays travel with the feed: status bar, LUT, zebra, focus assist, guides, false color, audio meter, safe area.
  • The top bar reads HDMI whenever a display is connected.
  • Program on the display is the default. Changing the HDMI settings needs Pro; the multicam and clean-camera outputs need Studio or Church.

08 · Stream

To the PC, or straight to a platform

Either hand the picture to the Windows companion on your network, or stream it out over RTMP to YouTube, Twitch, or your own server.

Serve to Companion Wi‑Fi or USB/ADB Stream res ≠ record Bitrate control RTMP URL + key
  • Settings → Stream → Serve to Companion starts sending H.264 video and mic audio to the Windows app.
  • The stream can run at a different resolution from the recording, anywhere from 480p to 4K.
  • Go Live sits on the viewfinder for RTMP sessions. On the free tier the stream carries a short ProdAssist card at the start and end, and Pro replaces it with your own watermark or none at all.
  • How many phones one PC takes: 2 on the free tier, 4 on Pro, 8 on Studio or Church. Each phone also limits how many PCs can pull from it: one on free, two on Pro, no limit on Studio.

Stream and Remote are always in Settings. Depth of field and the Beauty page need Experimental (visible on closed-test builds).

09 · Remote

Run the camera from a second phone

Open the app as the camera or as a remote under Settings → Remote. Over Wi‑Fi the remote gets the viewfinder and the controls; over Bluetooth it becomes a controls-only deck.

Wi‑Fi remote Bluetooth deck ISO / shutter / focus / zoom REC / STREAM / torch Studio banks
Legacy Remote, for older phones

A separate app that runs on Android 7 and up. Use it as a full remote deck, or as a camera that feeds the mixer over the network while keeping its own viewfinder on screen.

10 · Audio

Inputs and monitoring

Pick the input that matches the room: the built-in mic, the camcorder mic, a headset, Bluetooth, a USB or lapel mic, a voice-tuned input, or the raw feed. Listen back over HDMI, Bluetooth, or headphones.

Windows

The Windows companion

The desktop half of the job: a webcam that is always there, tiles for every phone you have connected, and a control panel for whichever one is on air.

Program output with the live tiles below it
  • ProdAssist Camera A webcam any app can pick, including Zoom, OBS, and Teams. It shows a holding frame while no phone is on air.

For churches

SDA Church program

Qualifying Seventh-day Adventist churches and ministries can use Studio-level features at no charge — unlimited companion phones, HDMI production modes, and unbranded live streams. This is not a Google Play subscription; we issue a license key you paste into the app.

What you get

  • Studio features on each licensed phone (same as the paid Studio plan).
  • Up to 5 phones per organization per year.
  • Renewed annually — we send updated keys when your term is up.
  • No Play billing — Church licenses are separate from Pro and Studio subscriptions.

How to request a license

  1. Install ProdAssist from Google Play on each phone you want licensed.
  2. Open Settings → Plans → SDA Church → Activate license.
  3. Tap Copy issuer digest on each phone (every phone has its own code).
  4. Send us your church name, contact email, and one digest per phone using the form on the right — or email cocrozha@gmail.com with the subject ProdAssist Church license.
  5. We email license keys back (usually within a few business days). Paste each key under SDA Church → Activate license on the matching phone.

Already on the closed test? You can request Church licenses now. Each key only works on the phone that produced its digest.
